Finally after 9 days I am back online! Mike finished fixing our computer at about 11:30pm tonight. We had to pretty much replace the whole thing..mother board, processor, memory, power supply and hard drive. The only things that didnt get replaced were the CD and floppy drives...even the case holding all the parts is new. It has been a nightmare ever since Saturday night dealing with this thing! Mike installed everything and went to fire it up and it wouldnt do anything! We thought the mother board that we just bought that day was bad so we called the computer store and told them what happened and they told us to bring it back. Easy for them to say considering they werent the ones that had to drive 1.5 hours one way to get to the store! Mike took it back and come to find out the chip was put in backwards and the pins were bent! It came from the factory that way! They tried to give him a hard time because "supposably" there was a sticker on it that said "void if removed" and there was no sticker so they said they couldnt give us a new one but would fix it for us free of charge. It has been one thing after another with this process! The new mother board has a 24 pin plug from the power supply and of course our power supply was only a 20 pin so back out we went and drove 30 miles to the closes Best Buy to get a new power supply...that was before we knew the mother board didnt work!! Finally we got it all set and ready to boot up and it wouldnt take the hard drive so we had to go in and replace that thinking that we could slave our hard drive onto the new one....well that would have been too easy and it pretty much flipped us off and said "Nope screw you! This equipment is not going to allow you to do that!" SO I have lost everything off my hard drive and I have to start over! Glad I got most of my pictures off when I knew something was headed south with it.

SO tomorrow I am going to be a busy girl getting bookmarks made and downloading programs all over again.

Of course the day I get my income tax return back the computer decides to run! When I cant really afford to buy a new computer it wants to stick its tongue out and taunt me but the day that I am at my wits end and seriously thinking about going to the nearest store and plunking down hundreds of dollars for a new one it decides it wants to work. That is just how my life works...lol

Well I better get to bed now I have a busy day tomorrow. Hope all is going well with all my friends! Sorry I havent been around to harass you! :P

My computer is dying! It took me 40 minutes this morning to get it to boot up and then I had to do that in Safe Mode. I am still in Safe Mode because I fear if I shut it down it wont boot back up! Mike thinks I probably need a new hard drive. He thinks they are cheaper then what they use to be but are still over my budget.

So if I dont comment or post for awhile it means that most likely I dont have a working computer. Not sure when I can get the computer fixed but hopefully I will be back up and running normally in a few weeks. I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be here as long as I can but if I dont respond its not because I dont like you anymore..lol

It has been so cold the last couple of days! They are saying it suppose to get even colder...to the tune of -12 not including the windchill factor!! I havent been online that much because it is so cold in my computer room. I am staying bundled up on the couch! :) I hope this Canadian cold snap passes quickly so we can get back to 25-30 degrees! That is going to feel like a heat wave!

Of course the cold isnt bothering my dogs at all. They want to play in the snow and make me stand out there until I cant feel my toes anymore. I have compromised with them and they get to go out more often but they cant stay out for 30 minutes each time! I really have to get a video of Alby my 12 yr old, 130 lb Black Lab doing his snow roll. Yesterday he started about 15 feet from the dumpster and before he was done wiggling around on his back he ran right into the dumpster!...lmao! He finally collected himself up and went further on to the snow covered lawn and did another one. He loves the snow! My 3 yr old Chow/Shep cross could really care less about it although she does like playing King of the Mountain on all the snow banks.

Subject:	How Come?!

How come my phone will not ring for days at a time (once it was 12 days!) but just as soon as I step out that front door everyone wants to call my house. It never fails! Mike and I go shopping usually once a month and when we get back home I see the answering machine light flashing. No one wants to talk to us when we are sitting home staring at each other but let us go do something and the phone rings off the hook. We have figured out that if we want someone to call all we have to do is leave the house! I am not exaggerating when I say for the last 12 months every time we go shopping we have come home to the message light! Of course they DONT call back either! We call them back and usually get the significant other, sibling or parent of the one that actually called!

The only reason why I find this odd is because my phone rings MAYBE 10 times a month on a good month...most months 5-6...yeah I know we are popular! I am starting to wonder if I have a homing device stuffed up my ass or something and when I go so far from the house it sets off a "call Cindy" alarm to everyone!

I am just starting to think financially it is not the best expense we have since we dont use it that much and we both have cell phones.

Ok Now what?..lol Thought I should get another journal since there is buzz going around that Livejournal is going to be going down like the Titanic.

I wonder if I can export all my journal entries from LJ to here...hmmmm will have to look into that. I am going to poke around here and see if I can get myself acclimated to the new scenery!
